I, Dr. Tameika Lawrence Ph.D., developed Bridging Therapists. I am a professional psychologist, author, and professor who took the journey of starting a private practice during COVID. Loneliness was a critical element experienced. There was a need to be part of a group of professionals. Being a part of membership associations and other professional databases provided the floor to be among many people. However, I became lost in the crowd seeking the help needed to start a private practice and expand my knowledge in the field. There were many failed contacts to seek consultations, mentorships, or direct support. While all these network associations did provide other advantages, the disadvantage was accessibility in a personable way. All I could think of was having a place where professional therapists or coaches may connect locally, and their peers expect their call or email. I wanted to remove cold calls and unsuccessful emails, prevent frustration in building a business by having direct support and minimize pestering for unavailable professionals, which resulted in Bridging Therapists.
